Participants will focus on textile design to develop skills and explore combinations in color, line and shape. This class will cover the impact of repeat patterns to create works on fabric through block printing, handmade stencils, and simple embroidery. This practice in textile printing will encourage partakers to repurpose fabrics, upcycle garments and source recycled material to create hand painted fabric collages. Students can expect to make a range of samples that can be incorporated into garments, mixed media pieces and patches. A $20 supply fee will need to be paid to the instructor on the first day of class to cover inks and miscellaneous. Various fabric/garments will be discussed the first day, students will be asked to bring in their own. In compliance with CDC recommendations, Buffalo Arts Studio is requiring face coverings for all students and staff.
