Arts in Healthcare Symposium

Buffalo Arts Studio’s Jump Start program is excited to present its first Arts in Healthcare Symposium, a forum to raise awareness about jobs and careers that intersect between art and healthcare. Students will learn about skills and the education needed within these fields.

Speakers will include Art Therapist Carla Reeves, Medical Illustrator Rob Flewell, Resident Artist at Roswell Park Ginny O’Brien, and Eat off Art founders Edreys and Alexa Wajed, facilitators of creative wellness workshops. Students will learn the skills and education needed for these professions, meet the panelists, talk with college students and ask field-related questions.

The Arts In Healthcare Symposium will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:30 am. It is free for the public to attend. Conversation to start promptly at 10:15 am.

The Jump Start program provides instruction to high school students who show a strong ability and interest in the visual arts, regardless of their ability to pay.

Registration is required. If interested in attending, sign up here or email education@buffaloartsstudio.org with the student’s name, school, and how many will attend, or call (716) 833-4450 x111.
