Ann Stievater has a Master of Science Degree in Art Education from Buffalo State College. She taught art in the Buffalo Public Schools, in the Buffalo Catholic Schools and in the Art Start program at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Since retiring as an art educator in 2000, Ann has been painting with oils and acrylics. She mentored with local and national accomplished artists, resulting in her current illuminist style. Ann has always lived in western New York or southern Ontario. Consequently, her landscape paintings portray her home environment, especially the ever changing moods, patterns and colors of the local waterways, skies and land. Ann is a member of the Buffalo Society of Artists, the Western New York Artists Group and the Buffalo Niagara Artists Group. Her paintings may be found in local and national collections.
